Production Process Specialist

Position Summary:

The Production Process Specialist position tends to the day-to-day operation of various production support roles while using standard work methods and safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. This position oversees, plans and assigns work to Production Assistants, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all bottling line essentials such as, bottles, caps, packaging seals, labels, boxes, etc. are all in place to meet daily/weekly production quotas.
  • Fill product into bottles for packaging and shipping.
  • Examine bottles to ensure fill levels are correct and labels and stamps have been correctly applied by following quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Ensure proper clean up during pre- and post-production, including, but not limited to, cleaning or tools, equipment, manufacturing area, etc.
  • Lead product size change overs as required by production schedule.
  • Wash, fill, empty, top, identify barrels accurately on work order.
  • Sanitize tanks, hoses, press, pumps, other equipment as needed.
  • Manage inventory of packaging raw materials within filling and bottling areas
  • Responsible for product flow of barreling process to include filling & emptying, barrel inventory and transportation
  • Operating equipment on property, include, but not limited to, fork-lift, pumps and hoses, barrel filling machine, small bottling line – hand bottling equipment, etc.
  • Communicate problems and issues effectively in order to keep operation running.
  • Assist department in various distillery maintenance tasks and facility improvement projects.
  • Ensures compliance of subordinates with established security, sales and recordkeeping procedures and practices.
  • Manage and train production staff.  
  • Communicate job expectations to department.
  • Cross-training on various production support roles as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or deemed necessary by the business.

Qualifications:

Special Licenses and/or Certificates:

  • Forklift certified preferred, not required
  • Valid Driver’s License with ability to meet company’s insurance requirements.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or applicable work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a production environment
  • Previous management experience preferred.
